Charles Taylor Visual Arts Center hosts first graphic design exhbit

(Jim Jones / HANDOUT) Visitors often are drawn to the Charles Taylor Visual Arts Center for fine art. The next few months, the gallery will be home to graphic design. Saturday the center opens its first exhibit solely dedicated to graphic design, “Graphic Design in Coastal Virginia.” It will be on display until Aug. 12. After almost 40 years of curating art exhibits, outgoing gallery manager Jim Jones said a graphic design exhibit is something he’s been meaning to implement. “I’ve had a list of exhibitions that I’ve wanted to do over the years and this is one of those that I’m finally checking off,” Jones said. Jones said when people think of art, graphic design isn’t usually the first thing that comes to mind.
