Frieze New York Announces 2017 Exhibitor List

MAXIMILÍANO DURÓN/ARTNEWS Armory Week may still be two months away, but already the Frieze New York art fair has revealed its 2017 exhibitor list. With more than 190 galleries participating this year, the fair will open on Randall’s Island on May 5. Alongside the main exhibitor section, the fair will continue to host its Spotlight section, devoted to art historical movements since 1960, which this year will be curated by Toby Kamps, the Menil Collection’s curator of modern and contemporary art. Cecilia Alemani, High Line Art’s director and chief curator, will continue to oversee the Projects section, while the Neubauer Collegium for Culture and Society at the University of Chicago’s Jacob Proctor and Portikus’s Fabian Schöneich will lead the Frame section, which hosts work by emerging artists.
