Giant illustrations made of stone, glass, tile and other materials go beyond traditional subway style and are a genuine design statement that shouldn’t be reserved just for a kitchen backsplash or bathroom. Mosaics are unique, full of character and open up a world of interior (and exterior) design prospects – and also serve as great conversation pieces. Like other forms of art, mosaics are made up of natural materials and can promote color, harmony and balance. They can accent any space with more of an “earth element.” They can also include a lot of whimsy, and add overall visual interest to any space. There is no one standard for the aspect of creating a mosaic. Equally important to the method – what also impresses on the final outcome – is the creative process that feeds the artist.
