Comic writers and artists book on Holocaust a powerful piece of history: Journey Into Comics

– "We Spoke Out:Comic Books and the Holocaust," is a collection of more than a dozen comic stories about Nazi persecution of Jews. It’s hard to believe in 2019 we have to write about this, but apparently some people still need to be told that the Holocaust happened and more than six million people were killed. Neal Adams, Rafael Medoff and Akron’s own Craig Yoe put together a powerful collection of more than a dozen comic book stories dating back to the early 1950s that expose the horrors of concentration camps and the systematic murder of millions of people including Jews, Romani (“gypsies”), homosexuals, invalids and other minorities. The book will be released in early March. “Every Jew in the world should read this book,” writes artist Neal Adams in his forward. “So should every Catholic, every Protestant, every Buddhist and every Muslim. Not because it’s pleasant — it’s not. But because it makes you think…about something that could happen to any group.” In these days when reality itself is being twisted beyond recognition and facts are being decried as “fake news,” it’s important to remember that truth is truth.
