House of the Week: Canastota farmhouse is ‘bright and cheery’

CANASTOTA, N.Y. – When Carol Endres-Ng met her husband Bill online, she was a widow and he, a widower. By the time she moved to his home at 128 Genesee Street in Canastota, he had done a lot of structural work already. Endres-Ng, a professional artist, had the home completely repainted inside so artwork would ‘pop’ from the walls. The country farmhouse is full of light and space which Endres-Ng said is part of the appeal. “This home is a perfect fit for what I do professionally,” said Endres-Ng. She has her own line of designs from linens to wall paper books with country folk art themes. When asked what her favorite room of the home was, Endres-Ng said while the living room and dining room are bright and cheery, it is the kitchen she loves the most. “I love the layout of the kitchen, it has a good configuration and flow to it. I like the white cabinets and the wood flooring we had put in,” Endres-Ng said.
