So when University of Michiganfine art graduate Chelsea Neman Nassib was working with an interior designer while pursuing her own career as an aspiring artist, she identified an opportunity to create an online marketplace for art. Nassib’s pivot from aspiring artist to the business side of the art world was the result of her personal experience: "Between school and the launch of Tappan, I worked for an interior designer in Los Angeles. It was there that I saw the difficulty in acquiring work by artists for our clients." With Tappan, Nassib set out to not only bring art back into the common conversation and remove the intimidation factor from art buying, but also to make art more accessible, paving the way for a whole new younger generation to experience art buying.
