Indigenous artist Glenda McCulloch shares her culture and Kalkadoon surroundings through paintings

(ABC North West Queensland: Kelly Butterworth) Glenda McCulloch works on a covered concrete slab behind her house in Mount Isa in the far north-west of Queensland. She is a Kalkadoon woman, who grew up in the region with her parents and eight siblings. When we spoke she had four young children running around, two dogs lazing on the patio, and her husband was getting ready for a campdraft on a nearby rural property. (ABC North West Queensland: Kelly Butterworth) But Ms McCulloch was focused, ignoring the chaos and purely dedicated to creating colourful Aboriginal art that she sells to people all around Australia. The majority of her customers, if not all, are non-Indigenous and most are white. Ms McCulloch said this was fantastic and a great opportunity to share her craft, her heritage, and her culture with as many people as possible.
