Local artist publishes comic book

Rob Weingartner poses with a new comic book he created with Nicholas Denham. – A pair of local artists recently published a comic book for children. Rob Weingartner and Nicholas Denham created the comic book, called “Space Squirts,” which follows a space family trying to survive in the Galaxy. “I had started a 24-page book about this guy named Brian Brainistein and he was half Einstein and half Frankenstein,” he said. “So, the original idea was his father is the evil of the universe. Brian was kind of evil, so he created this machines of war, so robots and such. This machine was his ultimate and her name was Muse 0010. They decide they want to be good and they ran away from the father and created a family.” According to Weingartner, the comic book is centered around the children. “So, what happened was, I had this whole comic book started, but Space Squirts is the off-shoot of the original idea,” he said. “It’s kind of a retro space story. The original one was called “Retro Rockets.” These are short stories of the kids while the family is trying to run away and just live in the Galaxy.” During […]
