Who choose this? What is this costing? Why? The News Leader asked this questions, so here’s what we found. What were the other submissions? There was a total of 13 submissions. According to Sheryl Wagner, the director of tourism for Staunton, the one that was chosen was actual a combination of two submissions by the same artist. Who was chosen? The city chose Charlottesville artist Christy Baker’s mural concept, "You Belong Here," best reflected the spirit and culture of Staunton. Charlottesville artist Christy Baker was chosen by Staunton’s Department of Tourism to paint a mural in downtown Staunton. Where will it be painted?
